Mermaid Blue (often simply “Mermaid Gin”) is a London-Dry gin from the Isle of Wight, England. It’s made using ten ethically-sourced botanicals including rock samphire (foraged on the coast), juniper, citrus peels (like lemon zest), elderflower and grains of paradise. The distillation uses traditional methods plus a multi-reflux column still, and the gin is distilled clear; its iconic blue bottle nods to its maritime inspiration. With an ABV of 42%, it balances freshness, herbaceousness and a salty edge.
Tasting Notes:
-
Appearance: Crystal clear liquid in a deep ocean-blue glass bottle; medium-bright, no artificial tint in the gin itself.
-
Aroma: Bright citrus zest, juniper up front, sweet floral notes (elderflower), and a gentle marine note from samphire; hints of spice from grains of paradise.
-
Palate: Smooth with citrus and pepper; mid-palate brings in salty sea air, herbal complexity, slight liquorice or root spice; juniper remains present but blends well.
-
Finish: Clean, crisp, with a lingering peppery spice and minerality; the sea-kissed botanicals leave a subtle maritime aftertaste.

ABV: 42%
Serving Suggestions:
Serve well chilled or with large ice cubes. Excellent in a Gin & Tonic with a premium tonic water; garnish with lemon peel, rock samphire, or even a sprig of thyme. Works well in cocktails like a seaside Collins or a citrus-forward martini. Also lovely paired with seafood, light salads, or dishes with herb-rich sauces.
