Nederburg Chardonnay (often labelled “Winemasters Chardonnay”) hails from the Western Cape region of South Africa. The fruit is sourced from vineyards in Stellenbosch, Darling, Paarl, Durbanville, Malmesbury and other surrounding areas, planted on slopes facing south to south-westerly. Vines are 10-15 years old. A portion of the wine is fermented or aged in French oak barrels; the rest stays in stainless steel to preserve freshness. Lees aging (aging on yeast sediment) is used to add creaminess and texture. Typical style is dry, full-bodied, with good balance between oak influence and fruit purity.
Tasting Notes:

-
Aroma: Citrus (lime, lemon), stone fruit (apricot, peach), with vanilla oak and subtle buttery undertones
-
Palate: Creamy texture; rich stone fruit with melon and citrus; oak adds vanilla and soft spice; smooth mouthfeel
-
Finish: Elegant and lingering; fruit and oak fade gradually, with a clean, slightly creamy aftertaste and refreshing acidity
-

Serving Suggestions: Best served chilled (around 10-12 °C). Pairs beautifully with creamy seafood dishes, smoked salmon, poultry in cream sauces, mild cheeses (like Camembert or Gruyère), Thai or Oriental dishes that can stand some richness, and nut-based dishes. Also good for sipping on its own to enjoy its balanced oak and fruit blend.
