The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Dufftown distillery, located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. Matured for 12 years in a combination of American oak and European oak casks, it’s designed to be approachable, with a smoother profile that balances fruit, oak, and malt sweetness.
Tasting Notes:
-
Appearance: Warm golden-amber colour, clear and inviting with moderate viscosity
-
Aroma: Toasted nuts, soft baked apples, orchard fruit, hints of orange peel, brown sugar and polished wood
-
Palate: Smooth and sweet; brown sugar and toffee intertwined with nutty tones, mild espresso or coffee undertones, subtle fruitiness (pear or cooked apple), gentle oak spice
-
Finish: Medium length; elegantly drying with lingering nut and oak warmth, some fruity residue and a soft, mellow fade
-
ABV: 40%
Serving Suggestions: Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water in a tulip or Glencairn glass to open up the aromas. Works well with mild cheeses or toasted nuts. Also suitable over ice for a gentler sip, or as a smoother base in whisky-cocktails that benefit from soft sweetness and oak (e.g. whisky sour, highball).
