Spier Signature Cabernet Sauvignon is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine from the Western Cape, South Africa. The grapes are grown on soils of decomposed granite and sandstone. Vinification includes fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation where ~20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 8-10 months; the rest is matured in stainless steel tanks using French-oak staves. The wine is crafted to balance bright fruit, structure and oak influence.

Appearance: Deep purple-plum colour with dark ruby hue

Aroma: Blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, with notes of cedar spice, dark chocolate, and hints of oak and tobacco leaf

Palate: Rich, succulent dark fruit flavours (blackberry, cassis), smooth and integrated tannins, with vanilla spice and earthy undertones

Finish: Medium to long finish; refreshing, with lingering dark berry, oak spice and gentle grip from tannins

ABV: ~14%
Serving Suggestions: Serve at about 16-18 °C. Pairs well with grilled red meats (beef, lamb), roasted vegetables, hearty stews, or dishes with tomato and herb-based sauces. Also good with mature cheeses.
