KWV Merlot is a red wine from the Western Cape in South Africa. It is partly oak-matured (around 8-10 months) to add complexity while retaining approachable fruit.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Medium to deep ruby red.
Aroma: Ripe plum, sour cherry, mulberry; hints of eucalyptus, cedar and subtle spice.
Palate: Smooth and generous; red berry flavours dominate, soft tannins, a touch of oak adding cedar or cigar-box notes.
Finish: Lingering and seamless; clean, slightly spicy aftertaste with fruit fading slowly.
ABV: ~14%

Serving Suggestions:
Serve at about 16-18 °C. Works well with grilled meats (lamb, beef), tomato-based pasta, stews, or Mediterranean dishes. Also enjoyable by itself or with a cheese board (semi-hard cheeses).
